Qualifications
- New Mexico Teaching License with a Coaching Endorsement.
- Five years of experience in teaching.
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for performing the task(s) of Head Coach.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in the screening, employment, supervising and assignment of assistant coaches.
- Be responsible for the scouting program of assigned sport.
- Be responsible for monitoring, representing, and having a working relationship with media and booster clubs.
- Be responsible for helping represent the district in his/her major sport.
- Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
- Coordinate schedules with the Athletic Director for interscholastic contests.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanship at all times.
