Responsibilities

• Coaching and Player Development–Plan, implement, and oversee training sessions, strategies, and player development initiatives.

• Develop a positive team culture emphasizing academics, personal growth, well-being, and sportsmanship.
• Recruitment–Meet recruitment and retention goals set by the College.
• Recruit student‑athletes who meet Meredith College academic and athletic standards.
• Provide recruitment and retention reports to the Director of Athletics.
• Program Administration–Oversee scheduling, travel, equipment procurement, budgeting, and facility coordination.
• Assist with management of the tennis budget responsibly and efficiently.
• Develop and maintain a competitive schedule for conference and postseason play.
• Assist with supervision of assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and volunteers.
• Compliance–Complete necessary compliance and departmental documentation.
• Work with the Compliance Officer to ensure rules and regulations are followed.
• Student‑Athlete Support–Monitor academic progress, support retention and graduation.
• Collaborate with academic support staff and trainers to ensure student‑athlete welfare.
• Community and Campus Engagement–Represent the tennis program at events and fundraising activities.
• Promote the program to public, donors, and campus to increase visibility and revenues.

Position Overview

The College, a member of the NCAA Division III and the USA South, an all-women’s college located in Raleigh, NC invites applications for the position of Head Tennis Coach. The Head Tennis Coach is responsible for providing leadership, organization, and supervision for all aspects of the tennis program, with a strong commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the holistic development of student-athletes.

• Work with the staff Compliance Officer to ensure programs and student‑athletes are following all rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
• Student‑Athlete Support – Monitor academic progress, support retention, and graduation success.
• Collaborate with academic support staff, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and administrators to ensure the personal welfare of each student‑athlete within the program.
• Community and Campus Engagement – Represent the tennis program at college events, alumnae functions, fundraising activities, and community outreach.
• Promote the program to the public, including media, donors, and the campus community to increase visibility and revenues for the program.
