Job summary

Valley Shore YMCA is seeking a friendly, reliable Preschool Head Teacher to supervise children in our Before & After School programs, ensuring safety and engagement while families are at work or school.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience with children in childcare, education, or developmental settings preferred.

• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 7 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision and positive engagement for children in programs.
• Learn and address children by name to build rapport and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Introduce children to program rules, routines, and activity areas.
• Ensure safety and well-being, including attendance tracking.
• Report accidents/incidents promptly and complete required documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, age-appropriate program space and supplies.

About the RoleThe Valley Shore YMCA is seeking a friendly, reliable, and nurturing Pre-School Head Teacher to support families and children in our community by providing safe, attentive supervision in our Before & After School programs.
