Job Description

The Head Table Tennis Coach will report to the Athletic Director and manage all facets of the Women's and Men's Table Tennis Teams, ensuring compliance with NCTTA, NE Regional, NYC Downtown Division, and FIT Athletics rules and regulations.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Manage student-athlete welfare and team operations during all team-related activities.
• Uphold all applicable rules and regulations from NCTTA, NE Region, NYC Downtown Division, and FIT Athletics.
• Recommend and supervise the appointment/retention of Assistant Coach and Team Manager.
• Recruit student-athletes who meet academic and athletic criteria.
• Plan and organize practice sessions and schedule matches and tournaments.
• Coordinate team travel, manage team budget, and oversee social media and promotional activities.
• Monitor team academic success and personal development.
• Attend coaches meetings, complete necessary training, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of successful head coaching experience in an academic setting.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• CPR/AED and First Aid certification prior to appointment.
• Excellent managerial, organizational, technological, and communication skills.
• Proven success in recruiting, player development, and holistic team success.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Availability for evening practices, weekend matches, and occasional overnight trips.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Additional Information

Salary

Stipend: $6,190 - $12,500 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Schedule

Thursdays 6:30pm - 9pm, weekends, and tournaments; schedule may vary.

Other Details

This is an at-will appointment for one fiscal year, with no benefits. Visa sponsorship is not available.
