Job summary

Child, Inc is seeking a Teacher Aide to join our Head Start classroom team serving children ages 3 to 5. This 10-month position (August–June) supports planning and initiating meaningful learning activities, assists the teacher, maintains a positive classroom environment, and supervises children.

The role may include planning support, basic record-keeping, and other classroom duties. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development accepted.
• 3 months of experience with 3-5 year olds preferred.
• Ability to work at any center/location.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Physical and TB skin test; background checks and E-Verify.

Position Purpose

The Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team and helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years. The Teacher Aide assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children and may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. (This is a 10-month position August - June)

Minimum Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
• Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferred
• Must have the ability to work at any center regardless of location
• Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Must obtain a physical and TB skin test and must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify
