Job summary

JCEO is a private, not-for-profit Community Action Agency serving Clinton and Franklin Counties in New York since 1966. The Head Start Teacher delivers activities fostering growth in language, social, emotional, and cognitive skills to prepare children for Kindergarten in a Head Start Center.

This full-time, non-exempt position is on-site at 19 Webster Street, Malone, NY 12953. Competitive hourly pay ranges from $19.76 to $21.96 with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education with preschool teaching experience
• Supervisory experience in classroom settings
• Familiarity with CACFP guidelines and meal serving procedures

Responsibilities

• Plan individual and group activities to promote language, social, and motor development.
• Instruct children in personal cleanliness and self-care.
• Develop curricula and lesson plans with input from Education Services Manager.
• Supervise adults in the classroom including interns and volunteers.
• Maintain accurate confidential records and inputs in CAPTAIN.
• Attend parent meetings and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
