Job summary

UCCAC, Inc. in Kingston, NY is seeking a full-time Head Start Teacher to provide a safe, engaging preschool environment for children and families.

The role involves planning lessons, collaborating with families, and supporting children's development in a structured, supportive setting. The position offers a competitive hourly wage, with benefits, leave accruals, an SEP-IRA, tuition reimbursement, and 7 weeks of PTO during the summer for 10-month employees.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in early childhood education required.
• 1 year or more of experience in a preschool setting.
• Valid NY driver’s license and reliable transportation; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, healthy preschool learning environment for children and families.
• Develop individual and weekly lesson plans; submit plans per procedures.
• Collaborate with guardians and center team to identify strengths, needs and interests of each child.
• Model social manners during meals and plan transitions to be calm and predictable.
• Attend parent meetings to explain Head Start operations and programs.
