Job summary

ADVOCAP, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant for our Fond du Lac Centers. The role supports the Classroom Teacher and provides communication and assistance to the Teacher and Program Aide. Duties include assisting with health and safety, fidelity to curriculum, and family engagement.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, EC 1, CDA within 2 years, and a valid driver’s license with occasional travel. CPR or willingness to obtain and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED or HSED required.
• EC 1 certification required at time of hire.
• CDA certification must be completed within 2 years of hire.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel occasionally up to 10%.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Physical/tuberculosis/drug screen and background checks required.
• Reliable attendance and professional work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring child health and safety.
• Assist in ensuring classroom fidelity to Teaching Strategies and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ensure safety and security of children and families in the center.
• Implement Head Start procedures within the classroom and spaces.
• Attend home visits, parent conferences, and IEP meetings as requested.
• Support English language learners and families with strategies.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
