Job summary

MAHUBE-OTWA is hiring a Teacher Assistant for Park Rapids Head Start Century Preschool and Park Rapids Kids Plus Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Center. The role is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, non-exempt, located in Park Rapids, MN with pay of $22.35–$23.10 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA credential required or enrollment within 12 months.
• Grade 7: CDA not required at hire; CDA must be obtained within 12 months.
• Grade 8: CDA required.
• Grade 9: CDA and CDL with passenger endorsement required; maintain CDL and DOT medical certification.
• Knowledge of early childhood development preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and perform basic math.
• Basic computer skills including email, internet, data entry.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Background checks as per MN law and Head Start standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom activities and supervision in Head Start programs.
• Support teachers with education, art, stories and daily routines.
• Help maintain a positive, cooperative environment for children, staff and parents.
• Assist with safety and emergency procedures as needed.
