Job summary

TVCCA in Connecticut is seeking a Teacher Aide to support classroom children with care, supervision, and safety. You will assist staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, and help maintain a clean, safe, orderly classroom and playground.

The role requires compassion for families from diverse backgrounds and adherence to program policies to promote each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Have access to reliable, insured transportation.
• Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, child CPR, and medication administration certification.
• Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed within 12 months and every 36 months for current staff.

Responsibilities

• Care, supervision, and safety of classroom children.
• Assist staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Keep classroom and playground clean, safe, and orderly.
• Encourage self-esteem and independence for the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child.
