Job summary

Acelero Learning Delaware- Bridgeville Center is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher for a Head Start classroom serving 3- to 4-year-olds. The position is on an as-needed basis across locations, collaborating with another teacher to manage 14–20 children.

The role focuses on implementing curriculum, promoting literacy and numeracy, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom while supporting families and following center policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to advance literacy, numeracy and language development.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a positive, supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start programs and relationships with families.
• Works effectively with other teachers to support classroom operation.
• Follows All Acelero Learning policies on health, safety and nutrition.
• Reports on time and communicates schedule changes to Center Director and Specialist.
• Participates in required meetings, events and training.
