Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida, Inc. seeks a Program Aide to support classroom, kitchen, and bus activities for HS/EHS programs in Florida. The role involves assisting staff, preparing materials, monitoring nutrition, and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be ready for required trainings (45 hours), and obtain First Aid/CPR within 90 days. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position. Preference for Head Start/Early Head Start parents if qualified.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English with other local languages.
• Must complete 45 hours Florida Child Care Facility Training within 12 months of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Background screening and health, TB and drug screening prior to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff with activities, field trips, and outdoor activities per lesson plans.
• Help develop materials and activities reflecting children's cultural backgrounds.
• Supervise mealtime to promote nutrition and social skills.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of classroom and materials.
• Support teacher in family nights, newsletters, calls, and materials.
• Act as substitute in teacher assistant/teacher's absence.
• Assist children with disabilities under professional guidance and follow IEP/IFSP.
• Sanitize surfaces and store materials; help with janitorial tasks when needed.
• Assist in food prep and document meals per USDA/CACFP guidelines.
• Attend required meetings and trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
