Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Health Specialist to promote and maintain the health of Head Start children. You will manage health data, coordinate exams and follow-ups, and train staff and families in health practices within a collaborative team.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of pediatric health care experience, and a Florida driver’s license. CPR/First Aid certification within six months is expected, with background screening prior to hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience in children's health care.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English with local languages.

Responsibilities

• Collect complete medical and developmental histories for new enrollees.
• Input health information into computer and maintain health charts and records.
• Coordinate with the nurse to arrange exams, immunizations and follow-ups.
• Provide health care training for staff, parents, and children.
• Maintain confidentiality per policies and procedures.
