Job summary

UMATILLA-MORROW COUNTY HEAD START INC is seeking a thoughtful Health & Safety Support role across multiple early childhood program locations. The position assists the Health & Safety Manager by conducting safety checks, supporting sanitation, documenting incidents, and helping site teams with basic compliance tasks.

Responsibilities include walk-throughs, using checklists, reporting concerns, supporting meal monitoring, and contributing to licensing readiness and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with environmental health and safety rules and regulations.
• Must earn and maintain Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Health, safety Monitoring, & Meal Monitoring.
• Conduct routine health and safety walk-throughs of classrooms, playgrounds, kitchens and bathrooms.
• Use a checklist to monitor safety, cleanliness, and supply levels.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the Health & Safety Manager.
• Assist in ensuring licensing readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Support sanitation and food safety procedures in kitchens and facilities.
• Maintain emergency bags, first aid kits, and safety equipment.
