Job summary

Siletz Tribal Head Start Program in Oregon seeks an early childhood educator to plan developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant instruction for 3- and 4-year-olds. You will work with families to assess needs, coordinate resources, and implement IEPs with ongoing home visits.

Qualifications

• Requires associate’s or advanced degree in early childhood education or related field with preschool experience.
• Background checks including sex offender registry and state/federal records required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom with daily lesson plans and culturally relevant activities.
• Collaborate with staff to assess family and child needs and connect to services.
• Provide follow-up on referrals and develop Family Partnership Agreements; conduct home visits.
• Develop and implement IEPs with parents; integrate goals into curriculum and home visits.
• Maintain accurate files on children and families, including records and progress.
• Model positive guidance to staff and parents during home visits and in class.
• Recruit and support parent volunteers, committees, and policy council; assist with training.
• Support recruitment and enrollment of children; align with Head Start goals and standards.
• Complete 15 hours of professional development annually.
• Other duties as assigned.
