Job summary

UNITED COUNSELING SERVICE OF BENNINGTON COUNTY INC is seeking a Teacher for Head Start to design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula aligned with Head Start standards. The role requires communication with children, families, staff, and consultants, and reports to the Education Manager.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or higher in Early Childhood Education with Vermont licensure; VT AOE license is preferred or must be pursued within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education with Vermont licensure.
• Vermont AOE Teacher License preferred, or apply within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements Head Start curriculum aligned with standards and family engagement.
• Collaborates with staff and consultants to deliver tailored services for each child.
• Maintains complete child records and attendance per regulations; BFIS credits up to date.
• Ensures child safety and a welcoming, supportive classroom environment.
• Engages families; supports after-hours meetings; supervises classroom staff and interns.
