Job summary

United Counseling Service of Bennington County Inc in Vermont seeks a Head Start Site Coordinator to lead curriculum development and daily operations at a Bennington County Head Start site. You will collaborate with families, center staff, and consultants to provide high-quality preschool experiences.

Under the Education Manager, you will implement Head Start standards, conduct home visits, supervise classroom staff and volunteers, maintain records, ensure safety, and engage families through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with experience teaching pre-school children.
• Vermont AOE Teacher License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements curriculum for Head Start aligned with standards.
• Conducts home visits and family conferences to share information about child Head Start experience.
• Maintains complete child records and attendance; BFIS credential up to date.
• Supervises classroom staff, assistants, volunteers; includes curriculum planning with team.
• Collaborates with program managers and consultants to tailor services to each child’s needs.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance; conducts drills and maintains facilities.
• Engages families through events and regular communication to support child development.
• Performs additional duties as assigned; may schedule after-hours meetings.
