Job summary

BI-County Community Action Programs, Inc. is seeking substitutes for its Walker and Pine River Head Start preschool classrooms. The on-call sub rate is $20.47 per hour, with Earned Sick & Safe Time available.

Responsibilities include supporting classroom staff, setting up materials, reading to children, and helping manage activities while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children aged birth to 5 years. DHS background check and licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must pass a DHS Background Study and meet DHS & MN Rule 3 licensing requirements.
• Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred experience working with children ages birth – 5 years old.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom staff to develop a learning environment.
• Set up classroom materials, keep the classroom clean and safe, read to children, organize and supervise activities; soothe children who are having big feelings.
