Job summary

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. Bemidji Head Start Center seeks on-call substitutes for Head Start preschool and Early Head Start classrooms. You will support classroom staff, help with setting up materials, reading to children, and maintaining a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Applicants must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED, pass a DHS Background Study, and meet licensing requirements. Preferred experience with birth to 5 years old.

Qualifications

• Must pass a DHS Background Study and meet DHS & MN Rule 3 licensing requirements.
• Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred experience working with children ages birth – 5 years old.

Responsibilities

• Work with the classroom staff to develop the learning environment, assisting in classroom activities.
• Help set up classroom materials; keep the classroom clean and safe; read to children; organize and supervise classroom activities and soothe children who are having big feelings.
