Job summary

NACOG in Arizona is seeking a dedicated preschool instructor to guide Head Start children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth under general supervision.

The role requires developing weekly lesson plans, forming trusting relationships with families, supervising staff, completing logs, and conducting health screenings and safety checks. A Level I CDA or higher degree is required, with advancing credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• Level I requires CDA or state credential for preschool teachers.
• Level II requires an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience.
• Level III requires a BA/BS in ECE or related field with experience and a state certificate.
• Level IV requires a Masters in ECE with 36 credit hours beyond undergrad.

Responsibilities

• Instruct preschool children and promote development across domains.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and ensure program compliance.
• Maintain relationships with children and families for a positive learning environment.
• Supervise staff and monitor work to ensure a successful learning environment.
• Complete logs and reports to document program compliance.
• Prepare classrooms and conduct health screenings for Head Start children.
• Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences to assess progress toward family goals.
• Follow safety and health protocols and assume related duties as assigned.
