Job summary

Acelero Learning in California is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to support a Head Start classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds. You will collaborate with the teacher, families, and staff to promote development across all domains, while maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

You will implement a child-centered curriculum and support social-emotional growth, working to address behaviors and communicate progress to families.

Qualifications

• CDA credential or enrolled in coursework on track for completion within one year.
• CPR and First Aid certification or requirement to obtain within the first year.
• Physical exam and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Implements a child-centered curriculum and learning environment.
• Supports social and emotional development of children.
• Addresses challenging behaviors by observation and family partnership.
• Gathers and maintains individual, family and classroom data for documentation and planning.
• Creates partnerships with families to encourage involvement in Head Start.
• Works with Family Advocates to coordinate services for children and families.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Conducts daily health checks.
• Participates in required meetings and trainings.
