Job summary

EPIC Head Start seeks a lead Pre-K teacher for a Morgan County classroom. The role requires WV Pre-K endorsement or LT Sub Permit eligibility, background checks, and reliable transportation for home visits.

Experience with young children and bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred) are valued. Employment operates on a 200-day term with travel as needed and collaboration with a supportive team to foster student and family success.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible to obtain WV DOE Professional Teaching license with Pre-K endorsement.
• Candidates with WV LT Sub Permit with Pre-K endorsement will be considered if no fully qualified applicants.
• Pass Federal and DHHR background check.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with young children preferred.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish preferred).

Responsibilities

• Establish a safe and healthy classroom environment.
• Collaborate with assistant teacher, family advocates, and staff to support students and families.
• Prepare and execute weekly, intentional lesson plans.
• Provide warm, high-quality interactions with students in classroom and outdoors.
• Perform developmental screenings and track children's progress in program databases.
• Maintain online portfolios.
• Conduct independent home visits and parent conferences.
• Involve parents directly in classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development as required.
• Maintain WV certification with Pre-K endorsement or LT Sub Permit.
• Other duties as assigned.
