Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is hiring a Professional Development Manager for their Head Start/Early Head Start Programs in Lansing, MI.

This role reports to the Head Start/Early Head Start Program Director and focuses on staff training and professional development to support the agency's mission and comply with Head Start Performance Standards and Michigan licensing regulations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Community Services, or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in a human services or social services organization.
• 2 years of experience facilitating or delivering training and development courses and/or classes.

Responsibilities

• Identify new training opportunities and improve existing programs.
• Serve as a Trainer.
• Develop the annual training calendar.
• Develop Training and Technical Assistance grants and budgets.
• Collaborate with department managers to develop individualized training and support plans per staff position.
• Conduct onboarding for newly hired staff and present video training, MI Registry, etc.
• Track and monitor professional development hours for all program staff.
• Monitor staff credential compliance plans and track credentials of all program staff.
• Encourage staff to engage in professional development and seek opportunities for skill enhancement.
• Facilitate trainings for course work leading to college credit and/or a CDA credential or licensing training requirements.
• Recommending and coordinating contracts for outside trainers.
• Staying current on best practices for training and development of adult learners; applying best practice to the systematic approach to training.
