Job Summary

The Teaching Assistant assists the teacher with planning and implementing classroom activities, parent activities and with preparation of the physical environment; works with parents and volunteers; participates in child assessment and home education home visits and parent-teacher conferences; takes on the role of teacher in the absence of the teacher.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Teacher Assistant I – GED or High School diploma with commitment to obtain a CDA or higher within first two years of hire.
• Teacher Assistant II – CDA, Intermediate Technical Certificate or AA in early childhood.
• Must demonstrate competency in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Basic computer skills (e-mail, data entry into HS Database).

Health Qualifications
