Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Head Start Teacher Supervisor to oversee a single location, creating a learning environment that supports social, emotional, intellectual and physical development for young children.

You will coordinate curriculum, monitor activities, and work with teachers and families to promote student success and program quality while ensuring safety and compliance with licensing and Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• TB clearance within 6 months prior employment.
• Annual influenza vaccination between Nov 1 and Mar 31.
• Pertussis and measles immunization.
• Health screening at employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move quickly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee curriculum implementation for children enrolled in classes.
• Review end‑of‑month teacher paperwork for accuracy and timely submission.
• Ensure curriculum plan meets needs of children, families and staff.
• Coordinate Head Start services (parent involvement, health, nutrition, etc.).
• Mentor teaching and on-site staff.
