Ohio Head Start Association, Inc. is seeking a Head Teacher for Piqua, OH.

This part-year, hourly role supports preschool education, preparing children for kindergarten and beyond, under supervision of the Early Childhood Service Coordinator and in collaboration with families. The position emphasizes safety, learning environments, and family engagement, with opportunities for professional development and advancement within Step-Up-To-Quality.

Qualifications

• ECE Bachelor’s degree and one year experience; or Bachelor’s degree + 6 ECE courses and one year experience; or Associate’s degree in ECE and two years’ experience.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, reach, bend, move easily and work on the floor with small children.
• A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer.
• Background checks, drug test, and physical required for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Teachers with daily operations in the center classroom, plan and prepare the learning environment and materials, daily routine, group times, outdoor time, and meals.
• Ensure children's safety with proper supervision and a healthy, sanitary learning environment.
• Collaborate with Teachers to develop activities promoting development across domains.
• Support teachers’ growth through trainings and family interactions.
• Assist in developmental screenings and family engagement activities.
• Complete home visits, plans and conferences to promote intentional learning.
