Job summary

Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking an HS Nutrition Aide I to oversee daily production of child-friendly meals under CACFP standards. You will prepare meals, help with special diets, and support classroom staff to ensure child safety and well-being.

The role requires high school completion, some cooking experience, and the ability to work with a team in a busy Head Start environment. Training and benefits are provided as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be warm, supportive, pleasant, and positive toward children and parents.
• Must be dependable and flexible with assignments.
• Willing to accept supervision and adapt to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks for children in care in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Review menus and determine food quantities with CACFP requirements.
• Inventory, label and store food safely; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Attend staff meetings and training; assist teaching staff with supervision.
