Job summary

Centro de la Familia de Utah is seeking a friendly Cook Assistant to join our Head Start Center's Food Services team on a part-time basis. You will help support meal planning, preparation, serving, and basic kitchen operations to support children.

You will help manage inventory and deliveries, ensure compliance with USDA/CACFP standards and health regulations, and maintain accurate meal documentation. The role offers a meaningful chance to contribute to children's nutrition and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS/GED preferred.
• Preference for current or former Head Start parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and related activities.
• Manage inventory for supplies, food, and equipment used in food services.
• Ensure kitchen compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Document meals and snacks per USDA/CACFP standards.
• Oversee kitchen operations in Cook's absence.
• Assist in preparing and serving food for field trips.
• Receive and account for food deliveries.
