Job summary

Community Action is seeking a Food Services Assistant to prepare and serve nutritious meals for Head Start children. You will ensure meals meet CACFP and Head Start guidelines while maintaining clean, safe service areas.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 6 months in food service, and knowledge of safe food handling. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. Background checks and TB testing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food prep and handling techniques required.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and prepare meals per Head Start and CACFP rules.
• Maintain sanitary meal prep and service areas according to schedule.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and supplies as needed.
• Monitor menu acceptance by children and communicate adjustments for review.
• Store foods and supplies according to Community Action policies.
