Job summary

Coastal Plain Area Eoa in Georgia is hiring a Floater/Custodian for Head Start to support Center Supervisor and staff with daily center activities, field trips, and transporting students and parents to Head Start centers and events.

The role includes custodial duties, classroom setup, safety checks, and maintaining a clean, healthy learning environment. Ideal applicants are friendly, patient, able to relate to people, and available for flexible hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Able to work with young children.
• Friendly and with warm personality.
• Must be able to relate easily to people.
• Emotionally mature and able to follow directions.
• Available to work flex hours from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; not to exceed four hours per day.
• Ability to operate office machines (copier, binder, laminator, etc.).
• Display positive attitude.
• Able to care for and understand young children and children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Center Supervisor and staff in daily center activities, outings, field trips and special events.
• Assist in transporting students and parents to and from Head Start Centers and field trips.
• Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and setting up classrooms.
• Provide and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all children.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Encourage parent participation in classroom activities and events.
• Assist with lunchroom/kitchen duties as assigned.
• Assist with bus duties and field trips.
• Assist children with family style serving and classroom cleanup.
