Job summary

LEO Inc. seeks a dedicated Family Service Worker for its Early Head Start/Head Start program in Lynn, MA.

You will assess family needs, link them to social, educational and health services, and coordinate supports with community partners to promote child and family well-being. You will conduct home visits, support enrollment efforts, maintain confidential records, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one college course in Human Services.
• At least two years' experience in a related field.
• Family Service Worker Credential preferred; otherwise required within the first year of employment.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's license and access to a car.
• Strong computer skills, including internet, email and Excel.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours.
• Must meet Head Start Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach, recruitment and enrollment activities.
• Assess family needs and develop an individualized plan; deliver/co-ordinate services.
• Conduct home visits to families as assigned.
• Refer families to community agencies/programs; assess relevance.
• Coordinate Parent Meetings at assigned center.
• Participate in workshops, meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain confidential records in children's files and database.
• Ensure two-way communication between parents, staff and community organizations.
• Work with Content Areas to ensure compliance and service needs are met.
• Maintain confidentiality per agency policy.
