Job summary

Centro de la Familia de Utah is seeking a custodian to maintain a Head Start center in Mount Pleasant, UT. The role covers daily cleaning, sanitizing, and basic repairs to keep the facility safe and welcoming for children and staff.

The position is a nine-month assignment requiring ability to lift 50 lb, read and write English, and prior custodial experience or related training. A physical and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED; Able to read and write English; Able to lift 50 lb.; Custodial experience desirable; Employment physical and TB test; Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures daily.
• Replenish tissue and paper towel dispensers daily.
• Empty trash from classrooms, offices, and kitchen daily.
• Clean interior windows monthly; exterior windows twice per program year.
• Dust mop, wet mop, or vacuum all floors daily.
• Strip and/or wax hard surface floors once per season or as needed.
• Steam clean carpet areas once per season or as needed.
• Order custodial supplies with Area Director approval.
• Dust and remove cobwebs from surfaces weekly.
• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Assist with keeping Center grounds tidy and trash-free.
• Responsible for minor repairs and general facility maintenance.
• Assist with broader facility maintenance tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
