Job summary

ECKAN is seeking a Child Development Specialist to plan, develop, and evaluate the Head Start Educational Component across the service area. You will supervise Family Educators and Childcare Partnership staff and ensure compliance with education, disabilities, mental health, and transition services.

The role collaborates with the Management Team to provide orientation and training, maintain records, report data, and foster community partnerships while meeting local, state, and federal

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related field.
• Knowledge of child growth theories, early childhood education, and family support.
• Familiar with Head Start programming and federal/state regulations.
• Must commute within ECKAN's seven-county service area.
• Background checks and health assessments required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the Education Component per standards.
• Support teaching and child development practices.
• Develop partnerships with home-based and childcare providers.
• Review policies, procedures, and contracts annually.
• Establish relationships with community partners to improve outcomes.
• Collect data and report as requested.
• Coach staff using the Practice-Based Coaching Curriculum.
• Provide orientation and training for staff.
