Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for early childhood education aimed at social competence and school readiness for preschoolers aged 2 to 5. Responsibilities include supporting children's social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development, assisting with classroom operations, planning, curriculum implementation, child assessment, and supervision.

Minimum Education & Experience

• Minimum 6 Early Childhood Education coursework units.
• Six (6) months of direct experience working with young children preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Child Care Licensing Regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
• Familiarity with preschool, center-based, and/or home-based programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet use.

Special Requirements

• Valid California driver's license, access to a motor vehicle, and proof of automobile liability insurance.
• Meet State health requirements, including passing a physical exam and TB clearance.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification, maintained throughout employment.
