Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a dedicated Teacher for a Head Start classroom serving 3- to 4-year-old children. You will co-teach with another Teacher to support a class of 17–20 children and collaborate with family managers and families to implement the curriculum aimed at outcomes for all abilities.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a criminal background check.
• Basic computer literacy including email, word processing and internet navigation.
• Must have 90 Hour Child Care Certification and an Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education (or related degree with 90 Hour Child Care).

Responsibilities

• Co-teach a Head Start classroom of 17–20 children with another teacher.
• Collaborate with family managers and staff to implement curriculum and support diverse learners.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops; maintain confidentiality.
• Fulfill mandated reporter duties and uphold Y policies.
• Maintain consistent, reliable presence and contribute to a positive team environment.
