Evanston/Skokie School District 65 seeks a Head Start Child Care Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education at JEH Early Childhood Center. You will assist in lesson planning, child assessments, and implementing personal and emotional growth programs for students.

The role involves teamwork with teachers, family support, and conducting activities to promote social and cognitive development in young children. 2026-27 schedule with benefits and training opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Job related experience is desired.
• Targeted, job-related education with study in a job-related area.
• Illinois Educator License with Stipulations - Paraprofessional or Illinois Professional Educator License required.
• At least a child development associate credential; enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree; or enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing materials for daily program and assessments.
• Assist with clean-up and care of room and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist with routines like handwashing, toileting, and meals to support smooth operations.
• Assist with providing a balanced curriculum emphasizing social, cognitive, language, and motor development.
• Attend daily meetings and collaborate with family support team and parents.
