Job summary

Taos Pueblo is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging classroom experiences for young children. The role emphasizes helping develop language, social, and motor skills while adhering to Head Start guidelines.

You will assist with lesson plans, classroom activities, transportation on field trips, and maintaining a safe, clean learning environment. A NM Early Childhood Certificate is required, with AA in ECE to be pursued within 2 years.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and NM Early Childhood Certificate.
• Must obtain AA in Early Childhood Education within 2 years of employment.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and writing classroom lesson plans.
• Assist in implementing lesson plans to develop language, social, and motor skills.
• Work with individual children as needed.
• Supervise activities and field trips with the lead teacher.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of materials and classroom.
