Qualifications

• BA/BS in early childhood education or related field
• Experience with preschool children and supervisory responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Attend CPSE meetings and case conferences as needed
• Plan, manage and implement the disabilities component
• Meet with staff and parents to discuss concerns of children with disabilities
• Track and follow-up on all children with disabilities
• Observe children with suspected disabilities in center
• Provide support to Lead Teacher in planning for children with disabilities
• Meet with parents and attend meetings as requested
• Ensure timely CPSE processing and monthly reporting on classified children
• Ensure staff and service providers follow IEP goals
• Advocate for children with disabilities and aid in referrals
• Support smooth transition into Head Start and public school
• Promote inclusion in program
• Conduct regular on-site visits and health/safety checklists
• Ensure centers meet NY State licensing standards and assist re-licensing
• Submit reports to Head Start Director as required
• Collaborate with other agencies for needed services
• Participate in annual program self-assessment
• Assist in PIR and Community Assessment creation
• Review Disabilities Plan annually and update as needed
• Perform other related duties as directed
