Job summary

Enterprise For Progress In The Community in Yakima, WA is seeking a reliable Custodian to perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and janitorial duties across Head Start classrooms and facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities include trash removal, floor care, restocking supplies, deep-cleaning tasks, and assisting kitchen staff. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Two years of custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial and sanitation duties in classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, kitchens, and other program areas.
• Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and spot clean surfaces.
• Clean, sanitize and disinfect sinks, toilets, mirrors, doors, and other high-touch areas.
• Safely clean and disinfect bodily fluids per health and safety procedures.
• Restock restroom and facility supplies and notify Lead Custodian when low.
• Complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing and window washing.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning support duties and trash removal.
• Maintain outdoor areas and ensure building security at day’s end.
