Job summary

Kiowa Tribe Head Start in Anadarko, OK is seeking a dedicated classroom aide to support the Lead Teacher and ensure a warm, safe learning environment for children.

You will assist with implementing engaging learning experiences, supervise indoor and outdoor activities, maintain a clean classroom, and communicate with parents and staff in alignment with Head Start policies.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and willingness to complete required trainings; 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and random testing.
• Must complete TB test and physical exam within first two weeks and annually thereafter.
• Must complete Head Start Orientation (ELCCT, First Aid/CPR within 90 days, and Food Handler’s Certification).
• Must complete DHS Orientation.
• Must be willing to submit to and pass drug testing as required by Kiowa Tribe policies.
• Must be willing to submit to and pass the required background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DHS licensing compliance.
• Adhere to 45 CFR Chapter XIII Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state and tribal regulations, policies and procedures.
• Assist Lead Teacher to promote school readiness; follow weekly lesson plans.
• Maintain a clean, neat classroom; keep toys and equipment clean.
• Establish and maintain good communications with parents and staff.
• Advocate and act as liaison for Head Start children and families.
• Act as bus monitor for transportation to Head Start events.
• Other duties as assigned.
