Job summary

Community Council of South Central Texas, Inc. is seeking a Center Aide to support the EHS/HS Teacher in delivering care and education for children and families in a child care setting.

The role focuses on maintaining a safe, stimulating environment and ensuring daily routines and learning activities align with Head Start standards. Requirements include a CDA credential (or progression toward it within 2 years), with preferred bilingual abilities in Spanish and English.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required; CDA within 2 years if not yet attained.
• Experience with children birth to five in licensed settings preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a calm, safe classroom and playground.
• Ensure child safety through supervision and proper space/equipment use.
• Support developmentally appropriate practice per Head Start standards.
• Assist with curriculum continuity and supporting children needing extra help.
• Follow center routines and assist with daily activities and routines.
• Document daily activities and child progress; report concerns to staff.
