Job summary

Maryland Rural Development Corporation is seeking a MRDC Bus Driver to provide safe daily transportation for Head Start children. You will pick up and drop off children on schedule, ensure seat belt use, and manage behavior to maintain safety.

Collaborate with Site Supervisor and families to optimize routes and ensure children are handed to approved caregivers. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements, a clean driving record, and DOT/TB

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must successfully complete a D.O.T annual physical and a TB test.
• Must pass a criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Transport assigned children to and from Head Start centers efficiently and safely.
• Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts or are belted in with appropriate car seats if needed.
• Address behavioral issues to maintain bus safety.
• Deliver each child to a responsible adult on the authorized list.
• Ensure no child is left unattended on the bus and follow safety procedures.
• Visually observe the health of each child on the bus.
• Collaborate with Site Supervisor and families to design efficient bus routes.
