Job summary

Hualapai Nsn is seeking a Bus Driver/Assistant Teacher to safely transport Head Start participants and support a teaching team in a preschool setting. Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance, safety drills, and assisting with lesson plans and activities to foster a supportive learning environment.

The role emphasizes working with developing children, including those with disabilities, and requires coordination with the lead teacher to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA credential required or Head Start waiver.
• Enrolled in CDA credential program within 2 years of hire.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree (any field) or be enrolled in a program leading to one.
• Must have Class B CDL with School Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Must have Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports Head Start children, staff, chaperones, and parents to activities.
• Plan and conduct regular bus evacuation drills and provide training.
• Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Support in developing materials for diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Assist in screenings, observations, and documentation of children.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of vehicles and complete vehicle inspections.
