Job summary

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. is hiring for a transportation role based in King City, California. This position is responsible for the safe transportation of Head Start children, requiring a valid California Commercial Driver's License and timely reporting of various responsibilities.

The split shift schedule runs from 6 am to 9 am and 2 pm to 6 pm. Applicants must meet specific qualifications, including having a good driving record and completion of required safety training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid California Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B with Endorsements P & S).
• DL-45 Special Certificate (Type I or Type II).
• Current DMV printout (original H-6 form) with a good driving record.
• Certificates of completion for pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver children as scheduled.
• Complete and submit daily sign-in/sign-out sheets.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain the bus in safe, operable condition.
• Operate the bus in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsible for safe transportation of Head Start and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start children. Must submit timely reports and be responsible for bus maintenance and regular safety checks. Supports CAPSLO’s mission by ensuring safe transportation for Head Start, Early Head Start, and Migrant & Season Head Start participants.

• TO1 Card.

• Certificates of completion for pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training (within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver children as scheduled.
• Complete and submit daily sign-in/sign-out sheets and roster sheets.
• Submit timely reports, including children's attendance, mileage, accident reports, and fuel receipts.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all safety measures are in place.
• Maintain the bus in safe, operable condition at all times.
• Operate the bus in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Support CAPSLO's mission by ensuring safe transportation for all participants.
