Job summary

MAAC is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher in San Marcos, CA to work under direct supervision with the Lead Teacher. You will assist in planning, supervising, and implementing the Head Start education program for 3- to 5-year-olds, promoting a safe, inclusive classroom and family engagement.

Responsibilities include supporting curriculum delivery, maintaining records, and assisting with home visits and family plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 12 units (core plus) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or CDA credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Implement approved curriculum and multicultural education.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and volunteers to support child development.
• Assist with attendance, meal counts, and classroom records.
