Job summary

ECS4Kids in Florida is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities under Head Start standards. The role helps create a safe, engaging classroom that fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for each child.

Under supervision, you will assist with lesson plans, routines, supervising children, promoting family engagement, and collaborating with the Lead Teacher and Center Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, DCF 45-hour training, and one of the following: CDA credential or an associate/baccalaureate degree in ECE or related field.
• Assistant Teacher I requires a National CDA credential or state certificate meeting CDA requirements.
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Support classroom routines and transitions throughout the day.
• Engage with children during learning, play, and meal times.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Monitor children to ensure safety and well-being; follow safety procedures.
• Greet and communicate with families and support parent involvement.
• Work closely with the Lead Teacher to support classroom goals and individual child needs.
