Job summary

Educational Service Unit 13 is seeking an Assistant Teacher for Head Start/Early Head Start in Bridgeport, NE. This full-time role runs 40 hours per week across 185 days, following the school calendar, with full benefits. Workdays are Monday–Friday, 7:45am–4:15pm, reporting to the Teacher/Education Supervisor.

Starting date is immediate. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and, within the first year, complete the Child Development Associates credential with infant/toddler coursework

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Within first year, complete Child Development Associates credential with infant/toddler coursework on the job.
• Clear criminal records check required prior to employment.
• Must obtain basic first aid and pediatric/adult CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing a safe, healthy classroom environment and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support all classroom activities including lesson planning, observations, supervision, and documentation of program requirements.
• Follow Nebraska state standards and child care guidelines for education and positive guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding the program, children, families, staff and community.
