Job summary

Prospera Consultoria seeks a dedicated classroom assistant to support Head Start services for low-income and special needs children and their families in Oregon. You will work under the teacher to implement daily lesson plans, maintain a safe learning environment, and assist with assessments and parent involvement activities.

The role requires experience in early childhood settings, a CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, and the ability to work with diverse families.

Qualifications

• CDA; Associates or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom, certified child care center, or comparable group care program.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Design and implement daily lesson plans within the classroom.
• Set up and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Maintain records such as observation notes, lesson plan notes, and attendance.
• Ensure safety and supervise children at all times.
• Follow PBIS approach in directing and guiding behavior.
• Greet children and escort them to the classroom.
• Prepare and gather instructional materials under supervision.
• Participate in parent Open House and monthly meetings.
• Perform developmental screenings as requested.
