Job summary

York County School Division is seeking a Head Coach for Athletics at Bruton High School. The role focuses on coaching student athletes, developing game strategies, and motivating players to excel in sport. Position reports to the Athletic Director with salary per the School Board Pay Plan. Candidates should have prior coaching experience and strong organizational skills in a school

Qualifications

• Prior successful coaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle details accurately.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure.
• Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develops a fair evaluation process for players to be selected for the team.
• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate.
• Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players to determine needs for improvement and strategizes game plans.
• Monitors compliance with state, regional, and district regulations for the athletic program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
