Job summary

Community High School District 218 seeks a Head Softball Coach to lead our high school program and support student-athlete development in alignment with the Eisenhower Athletic Department mission. The role requires ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification; prior high school softball coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include planning practices, supervising athletes at games and travel, ensuring safety, and maintaining eligibility as required.

Qualifications

• ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification required.
• Previous high school softball coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Excels at teaching softball fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and related events.
• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, contests, travel, and team functions.
• Ability to effectively plan practices, manage games, and conduct skill instruction.
• Monitor and enforce eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.
• Chaperone and supervise athletes at all softball events, maintaining discipline and promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
• Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
• Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.
